There are literally thousands of Tipsters or “Tipster Services” available online, encompassing just about every sport imaginable. Some tips are free, and others come as part of a paid subscription service.
“So who’s the best Tipster?”, you ask.
There’s no straightforward answer to that — but I can certainly point you in the right direction. Here’s everything you need to know in order to avoid scams, and find a legitimate Tipster using one of the very best, and most transparent, Tipster Platforms.

Do Profitable Tipsters Exist?
I used to believe there was no hope in finding any Tipster that gives you a genuine advantage — whether you paid for a service or not. But that conclusion was drawn from a string of negative experiences using independent subscription Tipster Services, and from realising just how many social media Tipsters falsely promote themselves to entice punters to use their affiliate tracking links.
However, I’ve seen gradual improvements to the Tipster scene, and to the gambling industry overall, in recent years. Online regulations are tightening for the better: it seems I’m not the only one who recognised that the industry needed cleaning up!
Several solid Tipster Services do exist. These are brought to you through specialist Tipster proofing sites — offering far more transparency to followers than ever before. I’ll get onto these sites, and why they’re worth using, shortly.
Free or Paid Tipsters?
In an ideal world, all Tipster Services would be free. But the reality is that the best services tend to charge a subscription fee. There are, however, pros and cons to both that are worth noting.
Free Tipster Services
You’re spoilt for choice. There are free Tipsters everywhere — on blogs, social media, forums, podcasts, the radio, and more.
Just keep in mind that free Tipping Services tend to be less audited than many of the paid options. You need to assess the strategy used, and the motives behind them, on a case-by-case basis. Always tread carefully.
Warning: Many free Tipsters give out selections based on the slightest hunch. They’ll frequently post images of winnings and play down losses. They’ll try to entice players to subscribe to “premium tips” or to bet at whichever Bookmaker offers them the best incentive.
If you aren’t looking to pay for a tipster subscription, then I recommend using the free tips provided by an established platform — such as those I’m about to recommend in the next section. I’ve also put together my own list of the best free tipsters to save you some time.
Subscription Tipster Services
Paid options usually charge on a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis and tend to offer a greater chance of success than following free tipsters. I recommend subscribing on a monthly or quarterly basis to get the best deal while allowing enough time to monitor your results.
Paying for a tipster service does not guarantee success. Yes, the very best services almost always charge a fee — but many poor services do too. So aside from performance records, it’s important to look at the subscription price. Some services deliver promising results, but the fees are too high to make subscribing worthwhile.
Free and paid tipsters can be found on specialist tipster proofing sites — which I’ll discuss in the following sections.
The Importance of Tipster Proofing Sites
A tipster proofing site is a website that provides a platform for sports betting tipsters to showcase their picks and results to potential subscribers. Tipsters submit their betting tips, and the proofing site verifies the tips by tracking the odds and results. The site then publishes the tipster’s performance metrics, such as ROI (Return on Investment) and strike rate, to provide transparency and accountability.
Tipster proofing sites offer a way for bettors to find reliable and consistent tipsters to follow, as the proofing process provides evidence of a tipster’s ability to deliver winning picks. These sites can also provide a community for tipsters and bettors to share information and insights about betting strategies and markets.
I only recommend a few tipster proofing sites. Currently, Tipstrr, Smart Betting Club, and Betting Gods are the only companies I feel comfortable adding to my site. It’s not to say there aren’t more great Tipsters out there — I just believe these services offer the most in terms of:
- Transparency (they’re not scams, and most services offer trial periods)
- Variety (lots of sports and markets to bet on)
- User interface (neat reports, and user-friendly sites for mobile and desktop)
- Reputation (these services rate over 4.5/5.0 on TrustPilot)
- Cost (subscription fees are reasonable, and free options are available)
Please note that prices vary for each individual Tipster across all Tipster Networks. Be sure to subscribe to Tipsters with a solid record, where you estimate you’ll be able to return enough to cover your monthly cost. Also remember that betting carries risk: start slowly and never bet beyond your means. There’s no guarantee you’ll profit.
So here’s my shortlist of the top Tipster websites…
1. Tipstrr
Tipstrr was launched in 2014 as an open platform designed to connect tipsters with sports bettors aiming to improve their long-term profitability.
The platform prioritises transparency, maintaining accurate and publicly accessible betting records. The company — along with its directors — shares my belief that trust is the biggest issue in the tipping industry. To address this, Tipstrr built automated tracking tools that record tipster performance using verified bookmaker odds.
Unlike other platforms, Tipstrr relies on fully automated proofing. Odds are cross-checked by algorithms directly against the market, leaving minimal room for manipulation — a notable achievement.
Anyone can join and create a betting portfolio. These can be used privately for personal tracking or made public for others to follow — either for free or through a subscription.
Using Tipstrr
Browse tipsters by sport using the main navigation. You can also filter tipsters by categories like “on form,” “established,” or “free.”

This tipster showed a realistic ROI of 9.8% at the time of writing — a strong result. I’m always cautious with tipsters boasting ROI figures over 30%, as they’re rarely sustainable. When I see those, I immediately check how many bets have been placed.
You can drill into detailed stats covering sports and leagues, markets used, bookies, odds ranges, publishing times, and win rates. The system is intuitive and full of helpful data.

Tipstrr Pricing
Subscription fees vary by tipster, typically between £0–£30/month.
The upside is that most paid tipsters offer a discounted first month or trial access — making it easy to test their service before committing.

2. Smart Betting Club
Founded in 2006, the Smart Betting Club (SBC) is one of the longest-running, independent platforms for reviewing and verifying tipster services, systems, and strategies.
A membership to SBC grants access to a full library of tipster ratings, profit reports, betting guides, and exclusive tipster discounts.
The website’s appearance is a little outdated, but the content is incredibly thorough. SBC sets itself apart through its detailed proofing reports — often analysing whether advised odds were realistically obtainable and measuring how that affected long-term profits.
Uniquely, SBC does not profit from tipster referrals. There are no affiliate links, and reviews remain entirely independent. SBC earns solely from member subscriptions.
And instead of taking referral revenue, SBC negotiates discounts that are passed on directly to members.
Using Smart Betting Club
The SBC Publications section includes PDF “magazines” filled with reviews, betting strategies, and interviews.
Every two months, SBC publishes a Tipster Profit Report in a similar format. These are some of the most detailed breakdowns you’ll find — with some exceeding 10 pages.
Tipsters that underperform are removed from the ‘Hall of Fame’, rather than being left indefinitely in the hope they recover. That level of scrutiny is rare.

Betting Gods is a registered tipster platform founded in 2014. It’s now one of the most recognised names in the space and has even sponsored several major races and courses.
The platform brings together a range of sports tipsters — including Horse Racing, Football, Greyhounds, and Golf — under one network.
Betting Gods has excellent third-party reviews, particularly on TrustPilot, and offers a ClickBank guarantee. So if you feel misled, you have 60 days to request a refund.
Customer service is also a strong point. The platform’s founder, Darren Moore, has spoken publicly in favour of tipster regulation to help protect punters from scams. He also enforces a 16-week verification period before tipsters go public.
Transparency is key to the platform’s philosophy. Tipsters are encouraged to explain their selections, giving you the chance to understand the reasoning behind each bet — and potentially learn something in the process.
Using Betting Gods
Betting Gods has a bold and easy-to-use interface. You can filter tipsters by sport and check their results in a few clicks.
While there are fewer tipsters listed than on other platforms, that’s deliberate — each tipster must pass a lengthy screening process before appearing on the network.
Note: some tipsters have been active much longer than others, so be sure to review their track record before subscribing.

Most tipsters offer a 30-day trial for just £1. You don’t need to place real bets — it’s a great way to try the service without risk.
After that, pricing varies by tipster, but typically falls between £10–30 per month — in line with platforms like Tipstrr.

I am fighting against scam tippsters in germany.
Needless to say, that I have a free facebook group where we try to make the punters better at “Wett-Vorhersagen”.
Like with anything worthwhile, you need to do your research before investing in a tipster service or even before following free advice. Like you said, many have no idea what they’re doing or are trying to scam people. I think TIPSTRR is a good choice for a paid service.
You said many tipsters are ‘naive’.
Well in many cases it’s much worse, where tipsters want their subscribers to believe they can win all of the time (when they definitely can’t). Even the best tipsters will hit losing streaks.
You have to make sure you follow people who know what they’re doing and have a decent longterm record. You need to be prepared to ride out poor periods, if it isn’t going to plan.
The level of proofing provided by tipstrr is an absolute must.
you may need an update here….I ve checked BettingGod, their tipsters are either long odds big variance ones, or not enough sample of bets. And one very interesting observation is their PnL often dropped a lot AFTER the trial period. Blogabet and Pyckio would be much better IMO.

I’m aware of those two sites – but haven’t trialled them yet. I did once have plans to compare Pyckio with Tipstrr. But to be honest, the site just didn’t fill me with confidence.
I agree that Betting Gods could do with some larger sample sizes for several of their tipsters. And you’re not the only person that’s noted a decline after their trial period. That said, there’s a lot of people that continue to roll on their monthly subscriptions at Betting Gods because it’s going well for them. Not every tipster on their site follows the same pattern.
One thing I should point out is that I’ve always highlighted the risks in using Tipsters (check out: https://punter2pro.com/can-betting-tipsters-be-trusted/). I believe using a value bet finder is the most solid way to earn from sports betting aside from risk-free methods – such as arbitrage.
But to be honest, I’ve found that a lot of punters aren’t all that interested in technical forms of betting. Only a certain type of person aims to turn betting into a part-time (or full-time) job. So a big part of this site is geared towards a wider audience of slightly more casual bettors. Hopefully it steers some of them well away from dodgy services that only offer ‘tips’ in an pursuit of bookie signups, and/or can’t provide sufficient evidence to support their records.
I do take note of customers’ responses to products I advertise to gauge whether it should remain on my site or not. I’ll continue to revise this post over 2020.
